One of my coworkers commented earlier this year that “Blogs are for the unemployed”…I called him on BS, but now I’m not so sure. I’ve been extraordinarily busy at work, and to be honest, I haven’t had the time to really give this blog the treatment it deserves. So here’s another “I effing love…” to hopefully make up for that.

Saitone was an artist I came to through random clicking on Youtube. I got really into chiptunes music a while back when I busted out my Color Gameboy for no apparent reason. If I had a spare $50 lying around, I’d pick up the LSDJ cartridge in a heartbeat, and make my own. There are many a chiptunes artist that I enjoy, with Desert Planet quickly earning his own blog post in the coming weeks, as I can’t get a few of his songs out of my head.

But this is about Saitone, and this is about two songs specifically that I love so much they simply could not be separate blog posts. They are too good to break up. First off we have his brilliant cover of Michael Jackson’s Thriller:

Seriously…? Do you see what he did there? Holy crap. Then, he went and pulled this one on me:

It’s not hard to make an awesome cover of Smooth Criminal…in my opinion Alien Ant Farm did a pretty good job back in the day, but when your chiptunes version puts the original “Moonwalker” music to shame, that takes talent.

If you want to check out more on the illustrious Saitone, check out his MySpace and Site
