N.A.S.A – Gifted

I wanted to start this blog off with a song that really resonated with me. I listed to all of Spirit of Apollo, but I really couldn’t get into it. It’s a great album, just not what I was looking for at the time. That being said, one song stood out above all the others.

Gifted is a really incredible motivation song. From Kanye’s ego-fuelled verse on rising to the top, to Santogold’s verse on smacktalking adversity, the entire song really just pushes you to try harder at whatever you’re doing. My favourite part? Lykke Li’s chorus:

A moment ends, I’ve got my rhymes
Whatever comes, I write it down
So knock me out and shoot me down
With mics in hand, we’ll stand against the test of time

The hook is what took me in. Like I said, not my favourite album in the world, but damn isn’t this song catchy. You can watch the music video here:
