I Effing Love… The Hood Internet
They are one of the best mashup bands I have ever found. Period. And I love mashups.

It turns out DJ Champion not only kicks ass, but is also Canadian. I haven’t seen any local shows, but now I know to keep an eye out for them. The really important thing is that No Heaven is a really great song, and you should definitely listen to it.
So it’s been an utterly unacceptable amount of time since I posted anything useful to this blog, and given the WEALTH of new music I’ve discovered, that’s gotta change.
Saitone was an artist I came to through random clicking on Youtube. I got really into chiptunes music a while back when I busted out my Color Gameboy for no apparent reason. If I had a spare $50 lying around, I’d pick up the LSDJ cartridge in a heartbeat, and make my own. There are many a chiptunes artist that I enjoy, with Desert Planet quickly earning his own blog post in the coming weeks, as I can’t get a few of his songs out of my head.
Idioteque was, and still is, my favourite song on the album, but a part of me actually likes this version better. There’s something a bit more haunting about it, which is always something I admired in the songs on Kid A. Definitely worth a listen, even if this YouTube version does miss the last 3 seconds.
Two More Years is also a solid song, and MSTRKRFT have only made it better. I’m a pretty big fan of the rock-remix, and this one does not disappoint.
It’s not a remix, it’s not a mashup, and it’s not a bootleg. It’s just one damn good song that I listened to on loop while I sent out some emails today. Groove to it. Or something.
One of the songs that never left my late-night mix was the Bass Kleph remix of Stanton Warriors’ “Who are The Warriors”. Half for the fat beats, and half for the fact that The Warriors is one of my favourite cult movies of all time.
I’m not ashamed to say I’ve been disgustingly excited for DJ Hero since I first heard it announced half a year ago. I’m religiously addicted to Guitar Hero for the PS2, and I’ve been resisting buying a “next-gen” console because I haven’t really found a game that screams at me.
MSTRKRFT are already well on their way to getting their “I Effing Love…” post, but I haven’t got around to write it yet. Their remixes are gold, and this one is no exception.
